Ali currently serves as an assistant to the CEO at Acelero Learning which is a pioneering provider of early childhood education and family engagement services. The focus of Acelero Learning is to close the achievement gap for thousands of Head Start children and families across the country.
Prior to joining Acelero Learning, Ali served as assistant athletic director and director of compliance for Manhattan College from 2014-2016. The Madison, Wisconsin native graduated from UW-Madison with an undergraduate degree in legal studies in 2005.
Ali also holds a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University where she was sworn in on May 19, 2008. She is also a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. While at Marquette, Fitzgerald was a member of the Sports Law Review and a class representative at Marquette’s Sports Law Society.
In 2010, Ali served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance, Student Services, and Special Events at Barry University. While at Barry, Fitzgerald oversaw all aspects of the school’s athletics compliance program and conducted monthly rules education sessions for coaches. Fitzgerald also served as the department’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor, organized community service events and Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraising initiatives.
From 2008-10, Fitzgerald was the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services at Illinois-Springfield. In her position, she was responsible for evaluating student-athlete eligibility and was vital in the school’s transition from the governing body of the NAIA to the NCAA. In addition, she served as Illinois-Springfield’s SAAC advisor and was the department’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).
